If you're looking for contact adhesive to buy in bulk, you probably want an adhesive manufacturer, not Innospec. If you're looking for a chemical component to formulate your own adhesive, then you're in the right place—but you need to talk to their technical team about which product fits your application.

I've seen buyers look at a product name, decide it sounds fine, and skip the SDS. Don't. The SDS is not optional paperwork. I'm not a chemist, so I can't speak to formulation details. But from a procurement perspective: if the supplier can't produce an SDS and a certificate of analysis for the product, that's a red flag.

Can small companies get a decent response from Innospec?

Yes—if you approach them the right way. When I was starting out in 2017, some suppliers treated a $200 order like a favor. The ones who didn't bother? They're not the ones I use now that our annual chemical spend is way bigger.

What I didn't do was check that the batch numbers on the drums matched the COA. Two drums had different batch numbers from the COA.
